Meet Jason

Meet Jason:

Describe your operation:

Jason along with his wife Jenny and their son Wyatt, operates a family-run cow/calf operation. Focused on Red Angus and Red Simmental genetics, they background their calves until early February and also do a bit of custom feeding during the winter months. Their operation reflects a strong commitment to quality and hands-on care year-round.

How do you keep animals safe and healthy?

Their cattle are supported year-round with a mineral program, consistent access to hay or grass, and shelter from the elements. Preventative care is a top priority, including vaccinations to maintain herd health and minimize illness.

How do you care for the environment?

Stewardship is key to their operation. They manage grasslands through a twice-over grazing system, spray for noxious weeds, and use no-till farming practices to reduce erosion and preserve soil health.

What message do you hope to pass on to your kids about farming and production agriculture?

"If you take care of the land, the land will take care of you." That’s the guiding philosophy they hope to instill in future generations—along with a commitment to sustainability and good stewardship of both land and livestock.
