The North Dakota Beef Commission and North Dakota Barley Council teamed up for Smoke, Sear & Sip, a one-of-a-kind culinary experience celebrating two of North Dakotaommodities, beef and barley.
Held at Brewhalla in Fargo, the event welcomed attendees for an afternoon of cooking, education, and great food, all centered around the art of pairing beef with locally crafted beer.
Food Network Chef Justin Warner led the interactive cooking demonstration, sharing tips on grilling, smoking, and preparing beef while showing attendees how simple techniques can create bold flavors at home. Throughout the event, Warner prepared three unique recipes: Smoked Tri Tip with Corn Elote, Spanish-Style Steak with Olives, and Wanja Jeon Mini Beef Patties.
Each dish was served as a tasting and paired with a carefully selected beer, giving guests the opportunity to experience how different beer styles complement a variety of beef cuts and flavors.
The afternoon began with welcoming remarks from North Dakota Beef Commission Director Brian Amundson and North Dakota Barley Council Director Tony Schneider, who highlighted the value of bringing North Dakota agriculture together through partnerships like Smoke, Sear & Sip.
More than a cooking demonstration, the event encouraged attendees to explore new ways to prepare beef, learn the basics of grilling and smoking, and discover how beef and barley work together to create memorable meals.
Through partnerships like Smoke, Sear & Sip, the North Dakota Beef Commission continues to connect consumers with beef through hands-on experiences that inspire confidence in the kitchen and around the grill while celebrating the people and products that raise them.
