Board Directors Shaye Wanner and Carmel Miller visiting with North Dakota State University fans in Thunder Alley.
From breakfast hash to smashburger sliders, beef was on the menu at college tailgates across North Dakota this fall.
The North Dakota Beef Commission (NDBC) visited five universities throughout the season, bringing beef to fans ahead of game time and creating opportunities to connect with consumers and beef producers. Across seven tailgate events, NDBC served approximately 4,500 beef samples, featuring shredded beef sandwiches, breakfast hash and burnt ends at North Dakota State University, along with smashburger sliders at the University of Mary, Dickinson State University, the University of Jamestown and the University of North Dakota.
The tailgates offered more than a chance to enjoy beef before kickoff. Fans could also participate in an interactive cup pong game featuring 10 key nutrients found in beef, learning about beef's nutritional benefits in a fun, game-day setting.
Just as importantly, the events gave NDBC opportunities to talk directly with consumers, answer questions and share more about beef and the people who raise it. Meeting fans where they gather created a natural way to start conversations about beef, from its nutritional value to the North Dakota beef industry.
By bringing beef to campuses across the state, NDBC made game day an opportunity to enjoy beef, learn something new and connect with the people behind the food.
