The North Dakota Beef Commission brought the national Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner. Girls Who Grill influencer experience to North Dakota, bringing women together for a hands-on day focused on beef, grilling, and building confidence around the grill.
The Girls Who Grill program was created to inspire women and home cooks to feel more comfortable preparing beef through fun, educational experiences led by beef experts. North Dakota’s Girls Who Grill event brought together local influencers and media personalities for an experience centered around agriculture, nutrition, and cooking.
The day started with a tour of Van Bedaf Dairy, a nationally recognized dairy operation a 2025 BQA award winner. Jen Haugen, registered dietitian and nutrition instructor at the University of North Dakota, shared how beef can fit into a balanced lifestyle and the important nutrients it provides. Nicole Wardner, executive director of the North Dakota Beef Commission, helped participants learn more about beef cuts, meat science, and simple ways to make beef work for different meals and budgets.
After the demonstrations, participants gathered around the grills to practice techniques, ask questions, and gain confidence preparing beef, whether they were experienced grillers or just learning where to start.
The evening ended around the table enjoying beef recipes, including Cowboy Marinated Skirt Steak with Corn Salad, Grilled Steak with Parmesan Asparagus, and Grilled Steak and Watermelon Salad.
More than just a grilling event, Girls Who Grill gave women the opportunity to learn, connect, and feel confident preparing beef at home.
